What will we be eating or drinking in the next ten years? How will we live and what will we look like in 2030? What will keep us occupied now and later in our free time and what will influence our health? Companies and organisations want to have insight into trends, market developments and target groups.

Fontys International Lifestyle Studies educates students to become trend researchers and concept developers. I four years’ time they learn to investigate and translate trends into creative and viable concepts for products and services that improve the quality of life. Our programme focusses on the shared area of sectors that are important for the way in which people organise their lives: health, food (nutrition), human movement (sports and activities), leisure, appearance, work and living (environment).

Studying at Fontys University of Applied Sciences in Tilburg, The Netherlands gives you the opportunity to live, study and work in one of the strongest European economic regions and to receive high quality teaching. We are known for our small-scale approach: lecturers know you by name and you receive support from current international students: buddies. The (international) internships during your studies will significantly increase your chances of getting a good job during and/or after studies.

You Will Learn

  • About the setup of the 4 years Bachelor’s programme
  • Study subjects such as trend research, analysis, marketing and communication, entrepreneurship, business modelling and concept development etc.
  • What your future job can be as a trend researcher and concept developer (at marketing, innovation, research & development or new endeavours within companies and organizations (e.g. IKEA, Unilever, Rituals, Philips).
  • About studying in Tilburg. A university city with a vibrant student life (more than 30,000 students) and a cultural city with many art events, music venues and festivals.
