Why study in Czech Republic – the heart of Europe!

Wednesday - February 7, 2018

The Czech Republic… a cold the land in the midpoint of Europe with a peculiar passion for ice-hockey (shout-out to Canada!) … but there’s more to Czech Republic than that! In the following piece we’ve put together the main reasons why any student with an interest in studying abroad in this mythical country would actually take action and go there. Let’s get the party started!

Leading innovation hub!

Why study in Czech RepublicA relatively small country with regards to territorial spread (population too – only 10 million ihabitants), Czech Republic is definitely something to watch in the near future. Can you imagine that such a small country has been named ‘Innovation Champion’ by the Consumer Technology Association? It’s been ranked the 10th most innovative country in the world! Assessment criteria included: ethnic diversity, percentage of immigrants, gender parity among workers aged, levels of personal and political freedom, average internet speed, share of highly skilled workers, percent of graduates with STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) degrees, GDP spending on R&D, annual new business entry rate, companies worth over $1 billion, policies that allow people to fly drones (recreational/commercial purposes), policies regarding ridesharing services, short-term rentals, the use and testing of self-driving vehicles, air quality and percent of the population with access to drinking water sources.

Affordable education

Why study in Czech RepublicThat’s right – ‘affordable’ is the perfect word describing the Czech university tuition fees. Actually, let me rephrase that. The perfect term would be education with ‘great value for money’. With university fees as low as €1,000/year and considering the high overall quality of the curricula taught across the country, Czech Republic is definitely a hotspot on the European education stage. What’s more, living costs are also decent compared to Western Europe (less than €100 for a student room, €1 for a bus ticket, €2 for a coffee) with almost similar life conditions!

Why study in Czech RepublicExcellently-located

train and be in any corner of Europe in just a matter of couple of hours! How cool, right? Especially thanks to Interrail and Ryanair who make it possible for students to travel to hundreds of destinations across Europe every year. So big UP for them! ?

Why study in Czech RepublicHistorically-rich

With the roots dating back in the 9th century (The Duchy of Bohemia), Czech Republic has got a lot of things to offer to the history aficionados. From ancient architecture to the actual culture of the country, the Czech Republic is the right place to go and widen your horizons with regards to European and International history.

Why study in Czech RepublicBecause… Prague!

There are 2 major adjectives describing the beautiful Czech capital of Prague: lively and friendly! An ideal student city where you could feel like home no matter how far your are, there is always something to do there and ‘boring’ is the last word that comes in the minds of its citizens and residents when expressing their thoughts about it. Concerts, bars and nightlife in general are outstanding!
