
Are you interested in studying your Master´s in the sphere of economics or social sciences? The faculties of economics and administration and the faculty of social studies offer a wide range of top quality master´s programmes at the second largest university in The Czech Republic. Both faculties were established around 1990 after the famous Velvet Revolution in 1989.
The faculty of economics offers a range of masters like Economic Policy and Administration, Quantitative Methods in Economy and Finance and Accounting to name a few. Faculty graduates have a great deal of potential, finding practical application as e.g. experts in contemporary economic theory, senior managers in both governmental and non-governmental organizations, economic process experts in the area of information technology development and operation or managers in the area of finance, banking and insurance. In addition to positions at public administration institutions, graduates may likewise find application in the area of national economics, business journalism and counselling or in corporate management and enterprise. The department has a total of 4,675 students enrolled on all of its programmes 2,078 in Master’s degree programmes.
The faculty of Social Studies was founded in 1998 as one of the newest Masaryk University faculties, the department prides itself on its research methods and includes applied research in areas such as youth and family, socialization and individualization as processes leading to personality development, reproduction processes and social reproduction, marginalized groups, poverty, unemployment, ethnicity, political systems in both Czech and European contexts, media analysis and environmental issues. The Master´s degrees on offer include Energy Security Studies, European Governance and a joint Master Programme in International Relations and Europe from the Visegrad Perspective. The faculty has a total of 3,626 students are enrolled at the faculty 1,444 in Master’s degree programmes.
As well as offering high educational standards you will be studying in the heart of Europe with many opportunities to travel around and see more neighbouring countries around Czech Republic. The campus is very modern and located in Brno’s Bohunice quarter and most classes are taught in beautiful old historic buildings.Thanks to funding from the European Union, MU is currently developing additional projects at the Bohunice campus: CEITEC, CETOCOEN and CESEB.
