All WMU programs of study are designed to respond to the current needs of the maritime industry through a balance of academic study and practical experience. Emphasizing the practical application of knowledge, WMU programs provide a unique insight into the range of maritime endeavours.
A highlight of the Malmö M.Sc. is the field study program that takes students to destinations across Europe, Asia, and South America to gain valuable insights into professional practices. Through co-operation with a wide range of institutions, WMU students experience application of the latest theories and technologies in real-life situations.
The standard M.Sc. is a 14-month program lasting from September until November of the following year. The intensive curriculum provides 95 ECTS credits with approximately 3 weeks of field study. Students who already hold a postgraduate qualification can apply for exemption from the foundation semester and join the accelerated program, arriving in Malmö in January and graduating in November of the same year.
