Description

Uruguay’s Technological University (UTEC) is opening its fourth international cohort of the Professional Master in Data Science, with a strong entrepreneurial component and exclusive academic support from the MIT Institute for Data, Systems, and Society (IDSS). In our master program, students will be guided online through the MITx MicroMaster in Data Science and Statistics by UTEC facilitators, participate in an online opening workshop with MIT IDSS + in a two-week on-site workshop in Uruguay with MISTI (MIT).

 

Data science intervenes in every research and productive process; our Master students have developed a range of projects going through autism detection and treatment, 3D printing of tailored products with image clustering, prediction and early detection of secondary school dropout, to detecting potential bank clients in regards to their social media behaviour, and more.

 

During this webinar you will have the opportunity to hear from our faculty and staff and find out about the program, the admissions process, and career opportunities, as well as meeting our alumni.

The intended audience for this webinar are people with completed or advanced university studies in the areas of Engineering, Economics, Business Administration, Information Technology, or a similar bachelor degree, as well as a  good command of the English language.

Admission Requirements

People with completed or advanced university studies in the areas of Engineering, Economics, Business Administration, Information Technology, or a similar bachelor degree. A good command of English is needed, as English is the official language of instruction, as well as high proficiency in linear algebra, and multivariate calculus. Knowledge of Python is desirable but not excluding.
