Specially developed for professionals in or aspiring to switch into the fields of marketing, communication, media, innovation, product development and human resource management, the SMU MSc in Communication Management (MCM), MSc in Innovation (MI) and Master of Human Capital Leadership (MHCL) are meant to equip you with critical and current trends and developments in addition to a strong business foundation within each area of specialisation.  

Master of Science in Communication Management (MCM)

12 months (full-time), 15 months (part-time)

For professionals looking to develop expertise in communication strategies, managing communication with diverse stakeholders across media platforms, analysing issues facing organisation and making data-based decisions using analytics and latest scientific evidence. You will also be required to do a one-week residency at the UCLA Anderson School of Management (Los Angeles, USA).

Master of Human Capital Leadership (MHCL)

12 months (full-time), 15 months (part-time)

For professionals looking to achieve mastery in strategic human resource management. The MHCL curriculum is designed in collaboration with the Human Capital Leadership Institute, CIPD, and Wharton’s Center for Human Resources. You will gain experience solving human capital challenges using analytics and evidence-based approaches and are required to do a one-week residency at the Wharton School. You will also be awarded the Diploma (Level 7) in Human Resource Management (approved by CIPD) upon completion of the MHCL programme.

Master of Science in Innovation (MI)
12 months (full-time), 15 months (part-time)

For professionals and aspiring or current entrepreneurs keen to master and advance their knowledge in innovation and entrepreneurship. You will learn how to manage and lead innovation effectively and be required to do a one week residency at Babson College (Massachusetts, USA). You will also be able to tap on the expertise of practicing venture capitalists who will be co-teaching the MI capstone project.

Applicants to the above programmes must possess:

  1. A good Bachelor’s degree in any undergraduate field from a reputable institution
  2. A minimum post-degree work experience of 2 years for the full-time programme and 3 years for the part-time programme
  3. A good score in the SMU Admission Test or GMAT or GRE (GMAT test has a 5-year validity period)
  4. A good score in IELTS/TOEFL (TOEFL/ IELTS is required if the medium of instruction of your undergraduate studies was not in English. It must be taken within the last 2 years at the time of submitting your application.)
